Years ago I was flipping through a fashion magazine and came across a photo of a sculpture peeking through the leaves, a woman's figure. I think it was Yves Saint Laurent's backyard, I don't remember. It was gorgeous and sensual. In the style of an ancient Greek sculpture like Nike of Samothrace. Throughout the years I attempted to paint it in acrylics and draw it in my sketchbook.

This particular photograph has been a frequent muse, a captivating image to which I find myself returning time and again. While revisiting it, I couldn't help but reflect on my artistic journey and acknowledge that my current skills have yet to reach the desired standard I aspire to achieve.

As I was drawing in my sketchbook I realized that I was at a Greek cafe. What a cute coincidence! Years ago I had the honor of visiting Greece with a wonderful friend. I often think about that trip and how much I would love to return. I adore their art, museums, history, culture, music, food, and people. Whenever I miss Greece I plan a day trip to Astoria, Queens. Not quite Greece, but a great place to order delicious Greek food.

Enveloped within the vibrant essence of Greece, Coffee Cloud elegantly portrays their café as a fusion of Hellenic charm nestled in the heart of NYC. The allure of Greek specialty coffees and delectable homemade pastries, which precisely encapsulates my experience. The expansive interior boasts an abundance of seating, with numerous tables and chairs—well over 20, I would estimate. Outdoor seating adds an extra layer of ambiance. The artful presentation of their beverages further enhances the overall experience, and the cafe provides a haven for productivity with excellent WiFi and an abundance of conveniently located outlets for both your phone and computer.
